How to Automatically Logon to Windows XP:

If you want XP to boot directly to the desktop, follow these steps:

1. Click Start/Run and type: control userpasswords2 and press OK.

2. Remove the check mark from from the "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer check box. Click Apply.

3. Enter the user name and password you wish to automatically log on with, and then click OK/OK.

Caution: Configuriong the PC to automatically boot to the desktop will allow anyone who has access to this PC to be able to log on and do whatever they wish on the system. This is a significant security risk!

Hello,
I have 4 computer systems, all running Windows XP SP2.
In the 2 of the systems, the "Welcome" screen leads me straight to the
desktop, whereas in the other 2, I am obliged to click on the picture of the
Administrative Supervisor. I do not know the reason of this phenomenon and I
would like to go in all of my computer systems straight from the "Welcome"
screen, to the desktop.
Please comment & help
