Hi All,

Since dowwnloading some updates to Xp Pro the welcome screen has been
activated both at startup and when the screensaver becomes active.
How can I turn off this annoyance?

thanks,

Tony

control userpasswords2

uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer."

and make sure your screensaver is not password protected or you might have
prompt for password
when the computer comes out of standby.

start>run and type

desk.cpl

go to screensaver, make sure "on resume, password protect" is unchecked. and
then click the Power button, then the Advance tab and uncheck "prompt for
password when computer resumes from standby".

Good Luck

Hi Ramesh,

Thanks for the fix, I used the registry editor to add aspnet to the registry
and it has cured both probs.

Tony
