Chris

I am trying to switch how users log on. Currently, my
system provides for the traditional logon 'box'. When I
access "user accounts" to make the switch however, I
receive the message "Client Services for Netware has
disabled Welcome SCreen and Fast User switching...to
activate, you need to uninstall Client Services for
Netware".

1. How do I do this?
2. Do I need to be concerned about doing this?

ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED!

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

To uninstall it, right-click your connection under the control
panel/networking and select properties. You will see it in the list of
installed protocols. Check with your connection provider as to what type of
protocols actually need to be installed (with most, this does not need to be
there).

Rick,

Thanks very much - worked quickly and perfectly. Don't
yet know if any connections require Netware, but at least
my internet connection still works!

Thanks again - really appreciate it.

Chris

Hi Chris,

If your internet connection still works, you are probably fine. Glad to have
helped.

Use MVP Doug Knox's utility to fix the Welcome screen.
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/fix_xp_logon.htm
[Fix Logon/Restore Welcome Screen]. This should reset the default GINA in
registry.

Manual Operation:
---------------------
The Default Windows Logon Interface May Not Appear After Installing
Third-Party Program
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=302346
[ After you do so, Windows uses the default Graphical Identification and
Authentication file (Msgina.dll)]
