Weird Problem: Excel SaveAs--> document not saved

Hi all, I'm having a problem with an ASP code for creating an excel
file.
The code works fine for me as I am a server administrator, but
authenticated users get the "Document not saved" message.

What the code does:
- It opens a base xls file (original.xls)
- It adds info to the excel sheet
- It saves the file as (anotherName.xls)

when executing the SaveAs command, the error ocurrs.

Things I've checked...
- Permissions on the destination folder (I gave Full control to the
"authenticated users" group)
- I've developed a simple page that creates a text file on the
destination folder (using FSO). User who get the error can execute
this page normally and the text file gets created.

Any ideas?

From your description, the problem is not with Excel (since you can run
the application) but appears to be "the system." You've played with
permissions (network user configurations) and played with a simple test case
to construct a text file, so you've narrowed it down to a relationship
between Excel (maybe all of MS Office) and the user. Could there be a
reference in your code that needs to reach some other, restricted portion of
your server? Any wierd library members in use? Are the users merely
activating plain-old-Excel? What about OS restrictions on their individual
workstations?
