Weird NTLDR missing problem

One of my machines runs W2003 without any problems, i can even reboot
it without any problems.
Altough if i turn it of and leaves it off for a couple of minutes (not
sure how long it takes) and then start it i get the horrid "NTLDR
missing...", press reset and it start without any problems.
Seems like the disk takes a bit longer to warm up or something?

Any idéas?

I don't know how the NTLDR can come into play but,
Turning on your computer the BIOS does a complete POST test;
By resetting your computer, the BIOS goes thru a short POST test.

One of the POST test not preformed on a reset is a memory check.

if when you restart windows and it works, or reboto the comptuer and it
sometimes works. Then this is not a standard NTLDR problem

I saw a similar problem to yours. I susepcted a faulty HDD or faulty
IDE connector or faulty IDE Cable. It turned out to be the IDE
connector.

I moved the HDD to the other IDE connector, and it was fine. Though
eventually, that IDE connector failed too!


I suggest you check those suspects I mentioned..
