Weird Issue with 20" WIDE LCD Display...

When I originally had things set up, there was a pixel setting in the DISPLAY
options IN BETWEEN 1024x768 and 1280x1024 - I think it was 1280x768 to allow
my display to look "at it should" on the wide LCD. I have to restore my
system from a full system backup I did late last night...and it worked
properly...except that the screen is on 1024*768 again, with NO setting for
1280*768 this time. Im 1024*768 with a wide screen, everything looked wide
(naturally), whereas with a regular 19 or 20" LCD it would look perfect.
Also, instead of the noral "smotth" scrolling, under this setting, it does
that "slow cascading" thing.

Would anyone know what might have happened here...or better still, how I can
get my 1280*768 back?

Thanks!

Install the drivers for your monitor from the manufacturer.

Hi...

Funyy thing is that they ARE installed. May have to reinstall them. If
that doesn't do it, I'll contact them.

Thanks!

Also, because you're using a wide aspect monitor I would change
the monitor driver to the specific one for your monitor. Normally,
XP just leaves the definition as "Plug-and-Play" which is OK, but
doesn't take into account custom settings and color profiles. Most
times the vendors have a composite monitor driver package. You
will need to force feed or manually update the driver, otherwise it
will stay defined as Plug-and-Play. You didn't mention the vendor
but most higher-end monitors will have a specific driver for XP.
