Weird file structure accidently put on hard drive

While using WindowsXP(SP2) I managed to interconnect two drives. I don't
remember how I did it so don't bother to ask.
Anyway I now have my F:-drive "copied" into my H:-drive. Not so bad, you
say. Wrong. If I delete a file or folder from the "copied" F:-drive, it is
also deleted from the original F:-drive so I cannot just delete the "copied"
drive.
The "copied" drive looks as if it is being treated as a network drive
because its folder's name in the H:-drive is 'Apps-1 (F) on 2.7 Ghz Athlon
(Abs)' just as if it were in a network.
I was thinking of dragging the "copied" drive and moving it to the original
F: but I'm chicken.
Any help you can give would be welcome.

Thanks, Dave

You probably mapped a network drive to your own computer.

Open My Computer | Tools | Disconnect network drive | H: | OK.

Nope, H: is a real drive on this computer and it has all of its original
files plus a folder containing the F:-drive files.

Right-click My Computer | Manage | Disk management | right-click your F:
drive | Modify drive letter and path.

Do you have more that the F: listed there ? Isn't it mounted in a folder of
the H: drive ?

Thanks for the suggestion. The only thing under the F-drive in the 'Manage'
path(below) is F itself.
I tried a few other things that are clearing things up. I stopped the
sharing of the F-drive. The good news is that prevented another computer on
my network from accessing the F-drive. The bad news is the F-drive is still
accessable through the H-drive both on my computer and the other network
computer.
Windows Explorer says that the H-drive has gotten larger by just the size of
the F-drive which made me think that it had actually been copied over there.
The info on the 'Manage' page also shows the enlargement. However using a
couple disk utilities shows that the F-drive is only taking up 16KB on H:!
That made me happy so I tried changing the name of the F-drive folder onH:
and F: was no longer accessable through H:. It looks like I can just delete
the F-folder but I'll make a backup of it first. I'll let you know what
happens.

Thanks again for your suggestion Dave
