Weird... and irritating... :)

Hi all,

I have a couple things on my WinXP Pro "irritating"
list. If anyone has any ideas, please e-me if possible?

1. Whenever I empty my recycle bin, I get a pop-up
window telling me my files are ready to write to CD. I
have to click on the balloon and delete the recycle bin
from the CD queue area manually before it will go away.
I've tried deleting the drive, deleting the recycle bin
(that works, but what good is that?), turning off CD
Writing ability (again, what good). It drives me nutz.

2. I have a cable modem, I'm connected completely, yet
the Help and Support Center will NOT connect to the MS
Knowlege Base when doing a search. Options are all ok.
Works fine on my other systems, just not this one.

Can't help on 1.

On this one...You mentioned the options are OK. In other words you
have opened Help and clicked on Options on the tool bar and then set
search options in the left pane and confirmed that the box to search
the MS Knowledge base is checked in the right pane?

If so then are you running a firewall? If so have you acidentally
disabled Helps access to the net in the firewall settings?
