glenlee, here is one way,
To fine duplicates in column C
In D1, put the formula
=Countif($C$1:C1,C1)
Then drag fill this down the column.
now click in D1 and do
Data, Filter, Autofilter. This will put dropdown boxes in the row 1 in each
column. Select the dropdown for column D and select custom. Put in Is
Greater Than and select 1
Now only the duplicates will be visible. Select the visible rows (start with
row 2) by selecting in the left border, then do Edit, Delete. All the
visible rows will be deleted.
Now do Data, Filter, Autofilter and this will remove the autofilter and you
unique company names will be listed.
Now you can delete the formulas in column D.
