Ater you install IIS on your computer can you then have your own website on
the web? I built my own site installed it on the folder and can see it on
another computer in my house. Why can't my brother see it from his computer
at his home?

Hi,

He would need to know your IP in order to see the site you have on your
system. How you determine what it is depends on what type of connection you
have. Please provide details for further assistance. If it is dynamic (and
many home connections are), then it will be changing periodically so in
order to let people see it all the time you need either a static IP or a
program that follows your IP (like dns2go).

Check your external firewall settings

Thanks for your reply. How would I know if it is static? I have a wireless
system and noticed that there are two ways to set it up one is to let it be
auto and the other is to define the ip address. If its auto I would think its
not static? Do you agree?

Does your ISP give you a static or dynamic IP? Ask them.
Do they block port 80? Ask them.

As Tom has stated, ask your ISP. If it is static, then we can get it and use
it, but it's more likely to be dynamic. What does your wireless connect to?
And are you sure you want that much traffic on a wireless network?
