I've googled for this answer, but maybe I am not asking right -- can someone
direct me to where I go to delete the website list that is held in the
address bar?

Thank you for any help.

Thanks for the information, but I do not see anything in that section that
says clear history or even anything close to it. I could be not looking at
the right place or not explaining this correctly:

I want to keep my internet history but I don't want it to show up in the
popup list in the address bar.

Thanks again.

What version of IE are you using? if IE6 do the following :
open internet explorer, click on tools menu, then drop down to internet
options, just above the four boxes on the bottom is a box marked clear
history, course this is version 6, I don't know where it's located on 7.

Right click on the taskbar and click on "Properties". Click on the "Start
Menu" tab then the "Customize"... button. Now click the "Clear" button
where it says "To remove records of recently accessed documents, programs,
and Web sites, click clear"

This is nearly just what I needed, Brian. I downloaded it and it works
perfectly but the address bar on the tool bar is what I was hoping to be
able to fix. I'm not wanting to necessarily keep it trimmed down, but there
are some web sites that I've misspelled and I want to get rid of those
because each time I try to open one of those sites from there, I end up with
a URL error and have to change it, which I usually do in the IE address bar.

Happy Yew Year to you too!

Liz

Thank you! That'll do it!

In IE6 Properties > Content tab > AutoComplete button uncheck "Web
Addresses", click Ok > Ok. URL's will not be added to the autocomplete
list anymore.

Check the registry at:
hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\internet explorer\typed urls
