webpages and registry

I noticed in registry that all webpages are saved there. I don't see the
utility for this. Is there a way to have this disactivated. Why would I
want to save webpages links in my registry?

You are talking about Typed URL's

Clean History & if you use IE8 you can set it to delete them when you close
the browser
