Webpage/excel?

What I want to do is put an excel file on a webpage that is password
protected, but only on the webpage, and no password on the file when opened
by the user on the computer directly through the computer. is this possible?

Stu,

it is possible but this has nothing to do with Excel. There exist web
mechanisms to password protect a folder or file (keyword htaccess). This has
to be configured for the web server. A brief introcution is available here:
