webcam

i installed my logitech webcam , that i used on my hp
comp, into my new comp but when i use it it freezez my
computer. i have went to add/remove and thought i had
uninstalled but it still works and freezes comp. i would
like to get the webcam working on my new comp. the new
one is the compaq, presario, 2400+. if there is anyone
out there that can help me, i would appreciate it.

This is a typical symptom of a hardware conflict. Is the webcam using the USB port?
It could be that the USB port/hub/controller is using the same resources
(IRQ,IO,etc.) and it is not being handled properly.
