Webcams that work in Vista? Suggestions

My Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 works if you extract the XP drivers from their
setup program. I'd expect Windows Vista drivers on launch.

I agree with Paul. My Logitech QuickCam Zoom works fine with Windows Vista.
Obviously Vista doesn't have any drivers for many of the webcams at present,
but that should change when Vista is released and manufacturer's start
patching their drivers. I'm currently using XP drivers on my webcam.

My Creativelabs Webcam Instant works in Vista x64.
You have to extract the Windows XP x64 drivers and use the inf file for the
installation.
DO NOT RUN setup.exe.

Please could someone tell me how to ' extract' the drivers. I have a
Smart camera that will not install on Vista.

Did you check you web cam manufacture for drivers or to see if it was
even compatable prior to installing Vista?

My suggestion is to go to the website of your webcam and do a search on
your model number. You should find a drivers section probably in the
support area hopefully they will have drivers for your web cam....if
not and Vista didn't recognise it you are just out of luck and
need to buy a new web cam if you want the full functionality of it.

If you post the manufacture and model number of your web cam and I
have time I can check for you if you do not understand.

Im sorry you are having these problems.

Depending on the 'drivers' you have they just may not be compatible with
vista. If you are using the original CD from some time ago then this is more
likely these drivers will not work.

If you mention your camera model / make maybe we can investigate.

Try not installing any of the supplied OEM Drivers. Plug the camera in and
let Vista install a generic driver. It should work OK

I have a Logitech camera, did for that.

I had a Creative Live camera which was three months old...it just
would NOT work with Vista....had to get their newest cam and still had
to d'load the drivers at their website......
