Web Wizard where are you?

Don

I have Access 97 running on Win98SE.

I'm reading a book about Access and one of the chapters is about using the
Web Wizard. However when I choose "New database" from the "File" menu I
cannot see any tab for web templates only "General" and "Databases". I have
looked at the install options and cannot see any options to install this
component.

How can I access the Web Wizard?

I suspect you're reading a book intended for a newer version of Access. I
don't recall any Web Wizard in Access 97.

Thanks.

What you suggest does indeed call up the Web Wizard, but the book directs me
to do FILE > NEW, and then choose the "Web pages" tab from the dialogue box.
Then it says to click on the Web Page Wizard.

I don't have the "Web pages" tab in the New Data base dialogue box only
"General" and "Databases".

Something isn't making sense here. Not only is there no 'Web Pages' tab in
the New Database dialog in Access 97 (nor in any later version) but there
isn't any 'New' command on the File menu either. In Access 97 the command
was 'New Database ...'. It wasn't until Access 2000 that it changed to
'New'.

BTW: As stated above, there's no 'Web Pages' tab in that dialog box in later
versions of Access. The nearest equivalent is 'Data Access Page', and it's
not a tab, it's an additional icon on the 'General' tab. (Data Access Pages
were new in Access 2000, so you won't find them in Access 97).

Yes your right!

Just had another look at the book and it says "start MS Word 97, click File
menu and select New ..."

I had mistakenly read MS Word 97 for MS Access 97!

Thank you
