Had a file sent to me (music) PC didn't know what prog to use to open it.
Got the usual box saying I could manually select or Windows could go online
to find the prog. Selected the Web Service option but a IE window opened but
nothing happened at all, no address or anything just a white screen below
the toolbar. I chose manually in the end and opened it with Quick Time. I
am sure that I have had the Web Service operate before.

Lynn,

Type these commands from Start/Run:

Regsvr32 /i urlmon.dll
Regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll
Regsvr32 /i browseui.dll
Regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
Regsvr32 oleaut32.dll
Regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
Regsvr32 jscript.dll
Regsvr32 vbscript.dll

Restart Windows
Open IE [Tools] [Internet Options] [Programs] [Reset Web Settings]
