Eric

I'm running a Windows XP Pro workstation with IE6. My
problem started when I tried to use a google search
engine from Ref Desk, the search would time out. I then
went directly to Google and I can't access Googles site.
I later tried both yahoo and MSN search engines and they
both time out.

I've racked my brain on this one. I can access these
sites from any where else in our agency, all of my
network settings are the same as other pc's in the agency.

One theory is when I had IE 5.5 I played around with the
custimizing of the IE search tool. Each of these sites
that I can't search from where sites that I had set as a
default when using the search tool.

I've tried to reinstall IE6 and the behaivor hasn't
changed. Please advise.

TIA
Eric

To protect against an other attack, be sure to install hotfix 828750 which
fixes the exploit that this virus uses.

Look for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
