Web Folders vs File Folders

I'm having a problem publishing my website changes, and I think I've narrowed
the problem down. We created a new "2005" folder for documents in our
BoardMeetings folder. It, somehow, has become a web folder. It can't be
deleted. This is the error message that I get:
Server error: 'BoardMeetings' does not refer to a page or folder in this
web. It may be a page or a folder in a subweb, or it could be a badly
formatted URL.
Anyone know of a fix?

It this is on the live/remote server, you have to contact your web host.

I was trying to publish the copy we have on our server. I have since
contacted our web host and they showed me how to make changes live. The
problem has now been fixed. Thanks for suggesting we contact our web host.
They were helpful.

But you need to also publish back to your local machine/server so that you have a back-up. However
it sound like your host hasn't bother to look into why you got the error in the first places, which
is a issue with their servers.

Also remember that when working live, the world see your work as soon as you save the page and if
you become disconnected from the live site while make changes, you site may be broke until you are
able to reconnect.

I know what you mean. I was a little uneasy about making changes in the live
invironment. So I made the changes that I needed to make right away. Then we
made a different change on the copy we have on our server and published it
the "old" way. I was a little afraid to do that since the files in our copy
were the problem. It seemed to work. Not to sure why it worked this time.
Turns out that it had previously been saved to itself somehow. Is there an
easy way to take all the files from the live environment and same them over
the saved copy we have here?

With the live/remote site open in FP, use File Menu | Publish Web / Site and enter the destination
as the location of your local copy.

Would you suggest I override the copies on my drive or save another copy as a
backup copy?

That a choice you have to make.
