Guys i have a question?

A local nurse as her own company and web site, she as all ownership rights to the domain name, but the cypriot company hosting her web site said that if she wants the web site changing to another cmapny she must pay CY£1800 is this right?

I was on the understanding that if i went to a UK hosting compnay and said that i already owned a name they would transfer it over to there comapny?

If she owns the domain name outright, the company as no right wha soever right?

If she does own the domain name, then they can't charge a release fee as far as I know. If it it a .co.uk domain name, ask her to e-mail nominet to clarify the situation (they handle UK domains).

As for changing hosting, if she downloads all of the files then she can easily upload them to a new company host :)
