Tommorrow I will be installing a WD 120 SATA drive. I currently have 2 ide
drives which are drive c and d. The ASUS motherboard supports SATA drives.
When I install it do I have to set it up as a master or just leave as is and
will Windows recognize it..

Follow the setup guide or user manual for the Mobo.

Review installation and setup proceedure as advised on the WD web site or
PDF downloads.

It should happily be supported with jumper as Master, but you also need to
instalkl driver files: it's all in the installation documentation.

SATA drives don't have jumpers to set them as Master or Slave - they
only exist as a Master since there is only one drive per connection.

Windows will recognize the drive, but you will probably have to hit F6
when installation starts and load the SATA RAID drivers from floppy.
Otherwise, WinXP Install won't know how to access the new SATA drive.
