There are two factors you should be aware of:
You can reduce the range and sample rate of the wav sound file to reduce the
size. Also you could change it from stereo to mono. These will have a
significant bearing on the wav file size, but will also have an affect on
the wav file quality. Finding a middle ground is the key.
You can also increase the size of the wav file that PowerPoint will embed by
making a change prior to inserting the sounds. Go to Tools | Options |
{tab} General | and change the 'Link sounds over size' option to something
really big, like 10,000kb or 10 megs.
