WAV to MP3

Fuzzy Logic

I'm running XP Pro fully patched with Windows Media Player 10. I thought this puppy would convert WAV files
to MP3 but can't find a way to do it. So I started looking for utilities to do it and found ABC Amber Audio
Convertor:

Anyone have any comments on this freeware program as it looks like it will do exactly what I want.

for creating mp3 also the quality of the encoding counts. I
cannot see, what encoder this tool is based on, but something
like LAME is recommendable. So I don't wanna judge this tool
and point to others instead we know they are good:

- CDex - a audio CD ripper which also can convert to MP3 and
includes LAME already - http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/

- Exact Audio Copy - same category, a bit sophisticated in
quality and settings - http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/

- dBpowerAMP Music Converter - other recommend, I'm not sure
about, not my cup of tea.
