thanks

I downloaded the demo but it couldn't convert the wav, saying the wav file
is compressed.
it's a 39.7kb which I tried changing the extension to mid
but my mobile phone doesn't recognise the format
although I can playback using any media player on my laptop

Use sound recorder to record it from media player. Mute your mike first.

Open volume control, Options - Properties - choose Record. WMP uses wav and it's own volume (not in voume) so boost the volume in WMP and in volume control for wave and mute all else.

Then playback in WMP and Record in Sound Recorder.

You may be able to use Sound Recorder to convert. See if it can load your wav file and File - Properties - Convert, you'll need to choose a format in Sound Recorder to suit whatever program you are talking about if you record anyway.

You would know. :o)

BTW, had any issues tonight with M? Still the same for me. :o(

M fine for me.

Notice how the long term MVPs are burning out.

Some getting hysterical over licensing. Don't recall that before over many years. (and that reminds me what ever happened to golem (jewish not tolkien).

Others picking fights over this or that. Replies becoming abrupt.

<M> Hmmm! Will try again.

As for Golem, long time gone and never an MVP. As for the rest.........
:o)

Microsoft needs to take them all off-line and put them in the shop
to do a little fine tuning on their positronic brains. After some
maintenance they'll be back to their usual bland, unflappable selves.

trying to convert a wav to a mid

how do I uncompress a wav file?
To my knowledge, a wave file in not compressed,

But I'll be the first to admit I'm not all knowing on sound file
formats.
