I'm not sure whether anyone has any ideas, or whether this is the right
group, but here goes.

I often watch TV through my PC (a Sony VAIO desktop) and use "Giga Pocket"
(Sony software) as the application to watch it.

I have recently downloaded from Microsoft a number of Windows XP
updates/service packs, etc. etc. and guess what, now the Giga Pocket can't
find any channels at all, when previous it would find 30 or so.

Has the download and update process somehow reset the Windows XP settings
back to a default position and overridden the preference/setting that
allowed me to watch TV?

I have checked - through the Device Manager - the TV tuner hardware, and
it's functioning properly. I have also spent a fair amount of time going
through the Control Panel but with no success.

Can anyone suggest how I my go about restoring my settings in Windows XP
(home edition) to allow me to get my TV back!... or at least a push in the
right direction to help me work it out myself.

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Do a System Restore to a date when your system was working the way you
wanted. that should bring you back.

A System Restore will undo your Windows Updates and not effect Giga Pocket
files.
I assume that you have checked the input connection for your TV signal. If
not, do so.

On thing you that should work if a Giga file has been corrupted is go to
Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Find Giga Pocket on the list and remove
the program. Then use the application recovery CDs provided by Sony and
reinstall Giga Pocket.

BTW. I have a Sony VAIO desktop with Giga Pocket 5.0. None of the Windows
Updates has effected its operation.
