I recommend NOT TO INSTALL the security hotfixes 821557 and 823980.
They made my Windows XP prof. very unstable and caused hangs! After
restoring to previous system checkpoint everything works again.

Took me a hole day to figure it out and fix the problem to get a running
system back again...

I have both of these installed on both machines here, with zero
problems.
