You did not receive an email message from Microsoft. What you
received was an email HOAX from a devious imposter!

Microsoft "NEVER SENDS ATTACHMENTS" with email! They always provide
a link to their website. What you received is a pure HOAX!

You should DELETE the message immediately because the attachment
is very likely to contain a VIRUS!

Microsoft never distributes software directly via e-mail:

Rodney--

As is said many times a week, and just was, MS never ever and probably never
will send you an email with an attachment or the actual hotfix/patch
download--the exception being if you've talked with them or their tech
support and discussed one of the phone release patches in a KB (most of
which haven't undergone regressionanalysis). I'd encourage you though to
take advantage of the free email notification of security patches and the
other increasingly good resources at their Security site you were just
linked. That site also lists all the hotfixes.
