I am getting the following warning message after my P.C.
starts "INICIO.EXE unable to locate component. This
application has failed to start because PLATCTRL. BPL was
not found, re-installing this application may fix this
problem.
I am also getting the same warning but with a different
heading "APVXDWIN.EXE" any ideas.
Also I have tried System Restore but nothing happens when
I try to go back to August.
My P.C. is only a few weeks old,Pent4 Processor,512 mb
memory and 60 gig h/d. it is an E.Machine 590 any help
would be appreciated.

Check your startup settings to find out what is causing this.
Applications that start with Windows can be found here:
- the WIN.INI, section [windows], entries "run=" and "load="
- the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
- the folders
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\{username}\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
