Want to know how to replace win 2k pro with xp home

Because I now have a windows NT operating system many
of the computer games i own will not run on my computer. I
recieved windows xp home edition and it tells me that it
can not be upgreaded, so I would like to know how I can
replace my old windows with the new one without losing any
computer files. Im a gamer in need of help!

Windows 2000 cannot under any circumstances be upgraded with Windows XP
"home" edition. Only way an upgrade can work from 2000 is 2000 Pro to XP
Pro. Sorry.

You'll need to do a clean install, backing up your files and settings on the
current system and restoring them on the XP Home system after you've done a
clean install.
