Thank you for your answer on the 'wallpaper' question. I
hope you don't mind me asking you another question. The
web picture was of my daughter taken from a web cam in
Dundee city centre shopping mall. I was able to save
the 'picture' as desk top wallpaper, but not as a jpeg or
other picture format - the 'save as' button merely
captured an image which it called 'getimage.html', and
each time saved the same image as a still from the site,
not the live image. Is there any way around this?
Hope you can help.

This is apparently a different situation than simply saving a displayed
image from a website. It sounds like this could be an active desktop item
and that it may involve a multimedia stream (live camera).

A copy of the "getimage.html" file opened in Notepad or another text editor
should show the path to where the static image is being stored. Locate the
file and copy it to another location on your hard drive. You now have a
saved copy of the image file that is separate from the image on the desktop
that gets updated by the webcam.

Places to look if no path is given:
-- Documents and Settings\<your account>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp
If found: this last item, the BMP file, is what you want to copy

--Documents and Settings\<your account>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Wallpaper.bmp
Again, the BMP file is what you want to copy. Local Settings is a
hidden folder, so you will need to change Folder Options> View to show
hidden file/folders and to *not* hide system protected files and folders.
After finding and copying your file, change those view settings back if so
desired.

Even if a path is not discovered in the HTML file and you are unable to
locate the image in those locations - a static image is being served to
your computer to be used as wallpaper. Its name may not be recognizable but
this means that there is probably a copy of the image in your browser's
cache folders.

If using Internet Explorer, use Internet Options. On the General Page,
click Settings. On next page that appears, click View Files. You'll need to
guess a bit at which cached image is the one of your daughter but you can
copy the file from this window to another location on the hard drive.

Even if you end up getting this far without a copy of your daughter's
picture, I have a few other suggestions:

-- Take a screenshot while the picture is on the desktop (a picture of a
picture, if you will) and save it. If you are unfamiliar with screenshots,
see "Copy the window or screen contents" in Help and Support.

--Ask the folks providing this service for directions on how to save extra
cute images of your daughter.

Good luck (also live near a town named Dundee but in a different time zone)
