Wallpaper corruption - nasty virius residue

I've been attempting to remove the results of a nasty virus - a couple of
Trojans - see post below.

Anyway, I have this offending rectangle that appears on top of any wallpaper
that I set. I've looked at the source, and the source file is
wallpaper1.bmp, located down inside of application data.

I deleted wallpaper1.bmp, rebooted, and now it's back!

How do I find what's creating is and stop it from regenerating?

This file is automatically generated by Microsoft Windows. I learned this
from a Google on this subject and would suggest you could learn much sooner
than someone might reply with what you need to know.

Good idea, but I can't seem to find anything relevant searching on
"wallpaper xp corrupt".

What did you Goggle on?

I typed in wallpaper1.bmp and only read enough to see that the file was
legit.
