Heres my problem if anyone can be so kind as to help...

I want to connect my Acer 5020 Laptop (Wireless - Broadcom g adapter
(built-in)) to my Wireless Access Point (NetGear W602v3) which is connected
to my ADSL Modem (eTec).

it sees the network but when it tried to connect (with or without security -
i have tried both) it either hangs and just says 'Waiting for Network' or
comes up with the message 'Windows was unable to connect to the selected
network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refresh and try to
connect again'

Which I have tried but still the same messages?

What do I need to do to get them connected, do I need to change any settings
my my ADSL Modem Router. All are on the same network and static IP address I
have even tried to use the Router's DHCP Server but that doesn't seem to work
either?>?

Anyone got any idea's as I really want to get my laptop working wirelessly?

Thanks,

Neil

Bear with me here first post!

I had a similar problem with my Acer, I also assigned a static IP though the
router but this didnt help, instead, I opened the "Wireless Network
Connection Properties" and go down the list to the "Internet Protocal
(TCP/IP)", click on this and select properties.

Im guessing that its set to "Obtain an IP address Automatically"

Well change this.

From here choose "Use the following IP address:" enter in the staic IP that
your router has assigned. (ie

Subnet mask should defult in to 255.255.255.0

Defult Gateway this will be the IP address of the router, it should be
192.168.0.227

Give that a shot, im not sure if it will help but I have found that this has
worked for several people i know whom have had similar problems.

Cheers,

router???

ip from the router) shuld i use some other ip range or subnet (255.0.0.0)
