Something to test...

Press the Windows key (the one with the flag), and the PAUSE key
simultaneously. Click the HARDWARE tab|then DEVICE MANAGER.

Locate the PORT for the printer, right-click it and click DISABLE.

ENABLE it when you want to print.

well....since you appear to be on the frugal side...why not spend some Q U A
L I T Y time with your children instead of throwin' them in a room with a
PC....

Or spend about $10 bucks for a bottle of ink and do your own refills.
The kids might even like you again!

Give your kids User accounts. Disable print devices for their accounts.

I have only been in this NG for a few days and I have noticed that Dr Phil
loves a stir. He sounds like he is perfect at everything. If I ever need any
help I will be asking old Dr Phil....NOT!!!

Hi Ted,

..........noticed that Dr Phil loves a stir.

He's not so bad, unless he gives some advice that someone could really
get screwed up by following, I kind of like the change of pace.

He's also used a lot of different names too. You can follow his tracks
by watching his return addresses in the headers of his postings. The
side conversations are that unless he really gets malicious, they won't
be blocking his ISPs ability to post to the forums.

Ted:
Most of the folks on these NGs are here to help. Most of us believe
that if we can't offer useful help, we should keep our mouths shut.

A few folk believe that, since they have nothing to say, they should say
it louder.

As you have discovered, one can quickly discern the former from the
latter.
