I have downloaded the symantec worm remover tool, ran it and it states that the worm was not found. My Norton virus autocheck discovers it about every 5 min. I.ve tried to dl and install the service pack 1 and it Says service pack 1 setup error. The product key used to install windows is invalid. The key is not invalid though. how do I get around this and dl the service pack. also how do I delete the worm??

Where is norton's discovering the Worm?
You'll need to post more details about what Norton's
message is.

Just a thought, but if you go to Mcafee.com you and check under virus
removal you can download a program called Stinger.exe. It will check your
system and if anything is found it will remove it. I use it as a
double-check on my anti-virus. Like I said just a thought.

go along to www.symantec.co.uk look in security response, download the
welchia removal tool ensuring that you run it with system restore
turned off and the pc started in safe mode..

I had to disable my system restore and run the antivirus
scan again to remove a similar worm from my system - this
has worked but I am unable to run my Norton as my system
crashed completely. (I ran the scan with a trialware
version of Norton and it found it again in the system
files once the system restore had been turned off).
Apparantely the worm can hide here without being detected
unless the restore is disabled whilst the scan is done.
I got this information from the symantec site somewhere.
Hope you get on ok.
