I am using NIS 2004, with latest virus definition (1/29/2004). And I have
reason to believe I was infected by the W32/Klexe-A worm. The infamous
'...refers to a location that is unavailable.....' banner has been keep
popping up every now and then. However, a full system scan did not report
any problem, and neither did the automatic protection thing.

How come Norton is not reliable at this time, and how to get rid of the
virus? Thanks for any suggestions!

Are you sure you are infected? That warning comes also when there is a
shortcut which points to non-existen file or network-site.

I believe I'm infected because 1) the message as above; 2) slower network,
about half as it should be; 3) NIS actually blocked many 'intrusions
(SQL-access)' from my PC to foreign hosts. Just ran a full scan again; but
still nothing found.

Hi,

If you can fine the file you suspect as a virus use your Quaratine
facility in Norton to Quaritine the file and submit it to Symantec to
analyse it. They will add detection if needed or tell you if the file
is clean.

Cheers
