I am using SUS to install Windows Updates on our LAN.
Last night the SUS server downloaded some new updates
including "Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 Network Install for
IT Professionals" and a similar one for XP. Anyone have
info on these? I'm not sure what they're for.
Thanks.

Hi Charlie

That's a brand new Feature with SUS. Before, SUS could only be used to
deploy Hotfixes. Now, finally, you will be able to deploy Service Packs, for
eample WinXP SP1 and Win2000 SP4, using SUS.

Hope this helps. Regards,

Fabio

Thanks Fabio -
So I guess that means that if an XP machine doesn't have
SP1 or if a W2K machine doesn't have SP4, it will be
automatically installed if you have your Windows Updates
scheduled to automatically install.

Yes, I think so as its a recommended Update. However, I would make sure this
manually as well.

Regards,

Fabio
