Internet Explorer 6.0.2800 (sp1) - Win2000 sp4 - fails to get the focus
(mark/select) on any part of a displayed page. This means NOT being able to
enter text like e.g. user/passw etc...

IExplorer works OK under Admin privileges, but NOT under any User, e.g.
advanced. Even tried: While Admin session works OK, copied Admin user profile
to Default User... then created new Test-user profile... but this (or any)
not having Admin right, fails IE to focus on page. Any page, even a locally
generated simple test HTM with Word. NOT able to select ANY desplayed text...
Giving the same user Admin privileges, enables a normal IExplorer behavour !
This also happens under "Fail Safe" mode...

Other hint:
Help/about normally displays, e.g.: (I am translating frm my spanish v.)
Admin Session...
version: 6.0.2800.1106
encription depth: 128-bit
product ID: 52339-OEM-0000527-95207
version updates: ; SP1; Q823353;...
User session...

NOTE: data is blank !! also, -same symtom- [Accept] button NOT able
to focus on, or activate. :-(
Any suggestion, besides reinstalling the whole crap! :-) which I definitely
dont want to do.
THANKs !!! :-)

that pointer exactly describes the problem, but..
No, it did NOT help :-(
I also tried IEFix, which also lists that symptom, but did not help either.
Even made a "in place upgrade" of my Won2000, which reverted IE to IE5.0,
with SAME symptoms. (remember, only in user session, in/with admin
privilegues ok).
Now I am not even able to reinstall SP4 !! which just aborts halfway through
with "ERROR unable to ubdate system" thats it ! :-(
IE repair does not succed either !!
ERROR: "DllRegisterServer" in "C:\WINNT\System32\asctrls.ocx (HRSULT =
80004005)
and ERROR ...same...\cdfview.dll (HRESULT = 8007005) !!??

By now my only choice seems to format !! :-( ****ing silly windows and IE
interaction.
