W/Service pack2 problem downloading zip files

Subject: rar = zip

rar program can open zip file as well as a lot of other zip formatz just by right click with the mouse on the file and exract it to whatever folder u want
its strange u need to download zip file to update to SP2 because windows run it for u and open it for u,
check again u are in the right windows update and run windows software update
 
After I downloaded ser pack2 it takes forever to download a zip file...before
installing the sp2 when I clicked on a zip file a window would pop up to ask
where did I want the zip file to go.....now I get no window and when it final
pop ups its in a folder in Content.IE5 and you have to extract it in stead
of saving the zip file....I have IE 6....I tried to find how to fix this
problem but nothing I do will correct this...I like the features in the
service pack2...I have to download to many zip files to go thru this...you
have to just sit and wait for the contents to even show up.

I hope someone has a fix for this

I did use the update to install sp2....and the zip files I have to download
are in zip format only a few times have I had anyone to use the rar
format....I have to download the format they put it in....

RAR <> ZIP.

The OP said they did the SP2 update, and now _afterwards_, ZIP files do not
d/l properly.
