Hi! Just received my new Dell, trying to install software
to use my High-speed Internet connection, which I've been
using with my other computer for a while. but early in the
installation process, I get an error from VTruckDbg, and it
shuts down my installation program. What gives???

If its a cable broadband connection (and many dsl connections), you don't
need to install their software. Vtruck is a piece of spyware that is
supposed to allow techs from your isp to connect to your computer and fix
it. Usually installed when a company called broadjump creates the install
cds. Its supposed to be a "virtual repair truck" bringing the tech to your
computer remotely. When I worked for comcast cable we found that this
program collects info and send it off to marketing servers. The info is
supposed to be only about how and when the cd is used, but from what we
could tell, it sends alot more than that. Most likely you do not need to
install the software, just setup your connection manually.
