Hello NG,

I might be in the wrong NG with this question. If this is the case, please
let me know the right one.

I have a problem with Visual SourceSafe 2005 sent to me with one of the last
MSDN Subscription Medias.

On one machine every thing works fine. It integrates into VS2005 and I can
nicely make use of it.

No I wanted Install it on my other machine, but here I have the following
problem:
The integration in VS2005 seems to be ok. I can select
"SouceCodeManagement->Add ProjectMap to SouceCodeManagement" (translated
from German) and I get the dialog "Open Source Safe Database" (again
translated by me) but there is no database. Well, if I try to add one the
"Assistant to add source safe database" comes up, but here I need to input a
https address and a folder. I tried it with my machine and the folder were
my db is, but I cant get to work.

The strange part is, with the other machine where every thing is ok , I
never got this dialog..

Please help!

Regards
Rainer Queck

Hello Rainer,

The issue seems caused by the wrong setting in Visual Studio IDE.
VS 2005 use INTERNET adapter to connect underlying VSS database. Thus, it
requires https address and folder to connect remote webset.
You could change the setting "Current source control plug-in:" in
Tools|Options| Source Control.

I have replied you in vstudio.sourcesafe newsgroup with detailed steps.
Please check whether it helps and update there if you have any further
issue. We are glad to assist you.

Have a great day,
Sincerely,
