Hello

I'm connected to the internet via ADSL line. This works fine
Running XP Pro on my desktop
I would like to connect to a client's network via VPN

My problem: When I go through the network set-up wizard I am presented with the choice "Connect to Work" (Going from memory here)

When I select this option the resulting "Connect with VPN" is greyed out. As is any other choice

I am an administrative user so permissions shouldn't be an issue

Question: Why can't I get the VPN option

Thanks in advance

I have the same problem with a users laptop at our
organization. I guess we are doomed forever until
Microsoft starts answering some questions.

Good luck to the both of us,

This problem can be caused by the failure of the Routing Access Connection
Manager service to start. You can attempt to restart the service by going
to start->Run and running services.msc. Then select the service from the
list, right-clicking on it and selecting restart.

If it fails to restart you might want to take a look at the following
article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=329441

According to the above article, reinstalling XP Service Pack 1 may be
required to fix this issue. Also, there should be a patch on Windows Update
to keep this issue from happening again.
