Login Scripts fail to excute when using a PPTP client on
Windows XP SP1 clients and Windows 2000 SP4 servers. We
take an event error 40961 in the client event log.
Description The Security System could not establish a
secured connection with the server
cifs/SERVERNAME.dns.com. No authencication protocol was
available. Once connected we can access resources.

Help?

how is the client authenticating? active directory? it may
be necessary to remove the account from the server's
active directory list, then log back in... the account
should rebuild itself. it sounds kinda like what happens
when you bring a new domain controller to replace another.
you must reauthenicate the hosts on that domain, but the
guru's would probably know more about that. just
presenting some ideas. set the computer to a workgroup,
reboot, then set the computer back to the domain...
reboot. that will reset the account on the server after
you have deleted it.

For login scripts to work, your computer must be a domain member...

Not withstanding, take a look at the following Google Groups link
