Okay... I was setting up a VPN from my XP Pro computer to
be the host. After all was in place and the users
selected, I clicked finish to put it in place. In doing
so, the VPN worked properly.

The LAN is the problem. Now all users must enter a
username and password to access any of the shares on the
XP Pro computer, like you have to do on win98 machines.

This is great for security and all, but I need to know
how to remove it. I have tried removing the VPN, system
restore before the VPN was created, reinstalling TCP/IP,
reconfiguring the network. Anyone else ever had this
problem and know what to do? Any suggestions will be
tried.

No need to remove it. Just add them to the winxp computer
as users with their user name and password that they use
on their own computer and they will have access with out
being promted for user name and password every time.
