when I open volume control, mute check box is checked in line in category,
what does it mean, should I uncheck it?
thanks for help

Line In -- Similar to Microphone port. It does not matter if it is muted
unless you are recording.

One reason to disable them when not in use - to avoid static noise in
speakers.

No, if you recording from the Line In jack on the back of the PC, the
box should be unchecked. If you are not recording from the Line In port
then the box should be checked, same logic as the Microphone port.

is there a hotkey or something that can toggle the microphone mute without me
actually having to click on it?
