Volume control program Question

how do I install the Volume Control? the icon is gone
and when i went into my control panel Sounds and Audio
device properties and checked the box for putting the
volume control icon on my taskbar,,an error message said
that I needed to intall the "volume control
program"...where is this and how do i do this? Its not on
the add/remove programs..or at least its not where i
thought it would be ...thanks

It likely means that you need to reinstall your sound card drivers.

Volume Icon Is Not Displayed in the Notification Area, and You Receive an
Error Message When You Try to Add It


Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the Volume
Control program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove
Programs in Control Panel.

This behavior can occur if the Sndvol32.exe file is damaged or missing.
