Volume control. Me too

I get the same problem:

when i check the "show volume control in tray" box in
control panel, an error msg said "windows cannot execute
SndVol32.exe. Please use Add/Remove Program in Control
Panel to install.", but I couldn't find the program
there. now i dont have windows volume control to use.

Start > Run > type msconfig then OK > Expand file > look for sndvol32.exe
and copy it from your XP CD to the correct folder.

Plectrum's response is correct but could add that the
sndvol32.exe file should be on your harddrive already.
Do a Search for it. It should be there twice, one in
C:\I386 and the other in C:\Windows\System32, they are
identical. If it finds one of them, just double click it
to install your sound icon.
