voice recording

i have just installed a microphone on PC, is there an
application in XP (or proprietary) that allows me to make
voice recordings, which I could then burn to CD? Kind of
like a tape recorder.

windows comes with 'sound recorder' it is limited to 60 seconds i think.
windows movie maker lets you record 'narration' files in wma format (and
others??) that are longer i think this comes with xp pro, not sure about
home. many sound cards come bundled with other recording software also.
