Now is a great time to point you to one of the easiest ways to find
information on problems you may be having and solutions others have
found:
Search using Google!
http://www.google.com/
(How-to: http://www.google.com/intl/en/help/basics.html )

Example:
http://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+play+vob+files+in+Windows+Media+Player

Google is a great place to find clueless people trying to fix problems
by trying things that makes things far worse than before. <sigh>

I second that. It's an excellent piece of work that will play just
about any file format.

When I tried it, I found it to be awful! Resizing the window didn't work
well, full screen mode didn't work well or not at all. And I couldn't
find a playlist. I couldn't edit the tags either.

What works best for me is K-Lite Mega Pack. Then you can play everything
right through Windows Media Player. Which is the only player that works
with my multimedia keyboards. Which is a must have feature as far as I
am concern. Otherwise multimedia keyboards are useless if you use
something else.

These MS forums are great, but sometimes Google provides an answer that
indeed works when no answer is forthcoming here. <g>

However, I never start with a suggestion to either reinstall Windows or
reformat my hard disk.

Why would you want someone else formatting your hard disk? *grin*
