VOB files in Vista

I am sure this must of already of been asked, but will Vista Play VOB files,
I want to rip my DVD's as i have my CD's to my Hard disk so that i can play
them from a library on HDD. Can it be done, without having to recomplile to
MPEG or other format ?

If you want to rip DVD's to your HD in VOB format, first of all you will need
an utility for removing the CSS encryption.
I presume you already know that.
DVDFab and some other programs can do that job in Vista.
Use the freeware "Media Player Classic"
(http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Media_Player_Classic.htm) for playing
the VOB files.
You can even open the *.IFO file and play the whole DVD structure that
resides on your HD.
Works great on both flavours of Vista (x86 & x64)
