vlookup / if ?

In a tech data sheet, I am entering PO #'s in column A:A, and as i fill out
the rest of the rows information, I select a salesperson from a DROP DOWN
list in column C:C.

What I would like to do is return all PO #'s per each salesperson without
duplication.

On an individual row basis, i set up: =if(C2="josh",A2,"")
where C2 = drop down list & A2 = PO #
If column C row 2 = "josh" (from a drop down list) , then return PO # from
row column A row 2. If not, return (blank)

However, I would like to search the entire column. I want to be able to
search column C:C for any time "JOSH" is selected from the list, and return
that rows PO # from column A:A.
=if(C:C="josh",A:A,"")
I assume this will have numerous flaws.. duplicates etc

Any ideas?

cheers!

This seems like something I would use to filter an end result. Is there
something I could set up for an ongoing process?

Thanks for your reply!

I'm not sure what you mean by ongoing process.

Perhaps you can record a macro in which you use the advanced filter and then
assign that macro to a button.

Your source data seems to be ideal for a pivot table. It can easily be
'refreshed' after new records are added. You can also easily optain
information by salesperson, PO, etc.
